▌1. Overview: Rising Stars in the Iron Ore Industry

▌(1) Brief history of the company: a myth of the development of world mining

Fortescue Metals Group Ltd (hereinafter referred to as FMG) was established in 2003 by the company's founders by acquiring United Mining and Processing Company (&) listed on the ASX (Australian Stock Exchange) and renamed it.

In 2004, FMG discovered iron ore resources (mining areas) in the Pilbara region. ▌2. A closer look: FMG mining areas and infrastructure

FMG's mining area is divided into four parts: Chichester Mining Area (Hub), Solomon Mining Area (Hub), Western Mining Area (Hub) and Iron Bridge Project (Iron). The produced iron ore is transported by railway (or transportation pipeline) Ship to five berths in Port (Port Hedland).

Using conveyor belts that can be moved, lengthened and shortened, due to the success and efficiency of this innovative infrastructure, the conveyor belt has been extended from the original length of 5 kilometers to the current length of 10 kilometers, and construction is currently underway with plans to extend the belt by a further 10 kilometers. kilometer.

▌(2) Solomon Hub (Hub)

▌(4) Iron Bridge Project (Iron)

In April 2019, FMG decided to invest in the Iron Bridge Magnetite Project (Iron). The technical and commercial evaluation of the project was completed in May 2021. The project is planned to be put into production in December 2022, with an annual production capacity of 22 million tons of 67% iron grade. of magnetite concentrate (capacity will be released gradually and will reach full production within 12-18 months).

The Iron Bridge Magnetite Project has a planned total investment of US$3.3-3.5 billion and will be jointly operated by FMG Group subsidiary FMG Magnetite Company (FMG Pty Ltd, 69% equity) and joint venture partner Steel IB (31% equity).
