The Feiteng Eight Methods are based on the eight extraordinary meridians and the intersection points of the eight meridians, use the Bagua to unify the eight acupoints, and use the Shi Qian as the code name of the eight acupuncture points and the basis for opening the acupuncture points. It is a type of Taoist time acupuncture.
The Eight Methods of Feiteng were inspired by the Eastern Han Dynasty Taoist Wei Boyang's "Book of Changes Shen Tongqi". The name "Feiteng" may be used to describe the quick and high efficacy of this method. Fly means speed, fast; soar means rise, high. Qu Yuan (339 BC ~ 278 BC) "Chu Ci. Li Sao": "I make the phoenix fly, and then it will fly day and night." Du Fu (712 ~ 770) poem said: "There is a plan to fly, and the intention is not without spirit. ." Su Shi (1037 ~ 1101) also wrote in a poem: "Feiteng registered his age, so don't forget the time when collecting herbs in the mountains." All indicate that this method is named after "Feiteng", which means high efficiency and quick effect.
1. Theoretical basis
The Bagua Naba points used in Feiteng Bafa and Linggui Bafa are different. The Eight Methods of Linggui use acquired Bagua, namely Wenwang Bagua; the Eight Methods of Feiteng use innate Bagua, namely Fuxi Bagua. The Eight Methods of the Spirit Turtle is based on the "Nine Palaces and Bagua Diagram" evolved from the ancient "Luoshu". The eight trigrams are used to capture the eight acupoints, and the numbers generated by the "River Diagram" are used as the algebra of the eight acupoints. The Feiteng Eight Methods is based on the "Innate Bagua Najia Diagram", which directly uses the Ten Heavenly Gannan Eight Methods points. In terms of main treatment, it mainly focuses on the main diseases of the eight meridians, which is more specific than the Linggui Eight Methods.
The main disease of the eight meridians refers to the obstruction of the circulation of qi in the eight extra meridians and the pathological changes that occur in the parts to which they belong and related organs.
The Du Vessel starts from the perineum of the lower abdomen, runs up the spine and enters the brain. The main symptoms are back pain, low back pain, brain diseases, and sore throat.
The Ren meridian originates from the perineum, goes up along the midline of the abdomen, encircles the lips, and passes through the face to enter the suborbital area. The main diseases are hernia, abdominal mass, and women's menstrual diseases.
The Chongmai starts from the lower abdomen and goes up both sides of the abdomen to the throat. The main symptoms are tightness in the lower abdomen, conscious Qi rushing up, and gynecological diseases.
The belt vein originates from under Ji's ribs and goes around the waist and abdomen. The main symptoms are vaginal discharge, cold pain in the waist and abdomen.
The Yin dimension starts from the inner side of the calf, along the upper abdomen on the inner side of the thigh, coincides with the spleen meridian of Foot Taiyin, passes through the chest and meets the Ren channel at the neck. The main symptoms are heartache and depression.
The Yang dimension starts from the outside of the heel, goes up along the foot Shaoyang meridian, passes through the back of the hypochondrium and ribs, from the back of the armpit to the upper shoulder to the forehead to the back of the neck and joins the Du meridian. The main symptoms include aversion to cold, fever, low back pain, shoulder pain, and neck pain.
The Yin Qiao starts from the sole of the foot, goes straight up along the inner thigh, passes through the upper chest of the vulva, passes through the zygomatic area and enters the inner canthus of the eye. The main symptoms are hypersomnia and dyspnea.
Yang Qiao starts from the outside of the heel and runs along the outside of the thigh. The upper shoulder passes over the neck and enters the inner canthus of the eye to meet the Yin Qiao. The main symptoms are eye pain and insomnia.
Feiteng Bafa acupoint is mainly treated. Since this method adopts the innate Bagua Najia method to open the acupoint, it is different from the Linggui Bafa acupoint. Therefore, although the eight points are the same, due to changes in time and space, their indications are different. Its main treatment is to treat diseases of the eight extra meridians, and also treat diseases of the meridians where the eight points are located.
Now the time stems and their indications when opening the Feiteng Bafa acupoint are listed below:
A, Ren – Gongsun specializes in treating gynecological diseases, spleen and stomach diseases, and anterior vaginal diseases.
B. Gui – Shen pulse is mainly used to treat insomnia, mental illness, eye disease, dizziness and other diseases.
Pungent – Houxi mainly treats head, waist and back diseases, sore throat, mental illness, etc.
Geng – Waiguan mainly treats fever, head, ear, eye and shoulder diseases.
E – Linqi is mainly used to treat leukorrhagia, fever, flank and armpit diseases.
Ji——Liequ mainly treats hernia, lower abdominal mass, and lung diseases.
C – Neiguan is mainly used to treat heartache, chest pain, depression and stomach problems.
Ding——Zhaohai is mainly used to treat insomnia, dysentery, kidney disease, impotence and other diseases.
The above ten stems refer to the "stems" of the time stems and branches. Each stem represents an acupuncture point, such as Geng represents Waiguan, Ji represents Lieque, A represents Gongsun, Ren also represents Gongsun, B represents Shenmai, and Gui also represents Shenmai. Ding represents Zhaohai, Bing represents Neiguan, Wu represents Linqi, and Xin represents Houxi. It must be noted that it should not be confused with Rigan. Although it is also "gan", Rigan cannot represent the Feiteng Eight Acupoints.
2. Acupoint opening method
Since the Feiteng Eight Methods use the time stems to represent the eight acupoints, you only need to find out the time stems on the day of diagnosis and treatment to know the acupoints opened at that time. The specific method of opening acupoints is as follows.
1. Seek day dryness first
If you want to know the time of the day, you must first find the day of the day. There are two ways to find the daily dryness of the day. The first is to check the aforementioned "Daily Stem and Branch Chart", and the second is to use the formula of the Japanese Stem and Branch to calculate it. (For specific methods, please refer to the "Ziwu Liuzhu Acupuncture Method" Stem and Branch Jiazi.)
2. Find the hourly stem according to the daily stem
After knowing the day stem, to find the hour stem of the day, according to the day stem of the day, according to the "hour stem and support calculation method" table ("Five Rats Escape" calculation method), you can find the hour stem of the day and hour, and you can get it by combining it with the child. The hour stems and branches of Zi hour; then check the "day and hour stems and branches calculation chart", starting from the hour stems and branches of Zi hour and going clockwise to Zhi Hai, you can find out the hour stems and branches of the twelve o'clock on that day.
3. Dry check and open acupuncture points according to the time
After calculating the current day's hour stem, check the "Application Chart of the Eight Methods of Feiteng". From the outermost second circle, you can know that if the hour stem is A or Ren, it will open Gongsun; if the hour stem is Xin, it will open Houxi; if the hour stem is E, it will open Houxi. Open to tears;….
May I ask for the acupuncture points for the Eight Methods of Feiteng on December 21, 1997?
It is known that the day stem and branch of December 21, 1997 is Dingyou. According to the above procedures, look up the table and picture, and you will know that the day and hour stem and branch are Jiachen, so the hour stem is Jia. Then check the second circle outside Figure 3-5. , you will know that Gongsun opened at Chenshi on December 21, 1997.
3. Clinical application
The clinical application of the Feiteng Eight Methods is in principle the same as the Linggui Eight Methods. It can be used alone or in combination with Ziwu flow acupuncture; it can also be used in conjunction with syndrome differentiation and acupoint selection; it can also be used in combination with ear acupuncture and eye acupuncture. However, the Feiteng method must be used to open the acupoints as the main acupoint, and the eight method acupoints must be opened first, and then other acupoints or other methods must be used. Whether the Feiteng Eight Methods Points can be used in conjunction with the Linggui Eight Methods Points, in principle it is possible. Because although the eight acupoints used in the two methods are the same, the time and space are different, the angles are different, and the levels are different, so the same acupoints play different roles. Just like the same person at the same time, in different environments and different positions, displays different talents. Ancient doctors considered multi-dimensional time and space and tried their best to mobilize and exert the potential and multi-faceted effects of human body acupoints.
clinical medical records
1. According to the condition, open acupoints regularly
Example 1, female, 52 years old, bank counter clerk. I have been suffering from right thumb tenosynovitis for 4 years. This disease was caused by long-term manual currency counting work. Various treatments such as cortisol sealing, wax therapy, hydrotherapy and general acupuncture were ineffective. Since general acupuncture is ineffective, we have to find another way and use the Feiteng Eight Methods in the hope of quick results. Check that there is one of the eight points near the thumb, which is the point where the lung meridian and the Ren meridian meet. The Ren meridian is the main meridian for women and has the function of regulating blood flow; the lung governs qi and directs the 100 meridians. Smooth circulation of qi and blood is bound to be beneficial to the recovery of tendon sheath inflammation.
Today (July 14, 1994) the day stem is Xin (the day stem branch is Xin Chou). Check the "Application Chart of the Eight Methods of Feiteng" and the missing time stem for opening acupuncture points is Ji. According to the calculation of "Five Rats Escape", Xin Riji is the Shigan of Chou Shi and Hai Shi. It's 1 to 3 o'clock in the morning during the ugly season, so it's inconvenient to come. So it was agreed that the patient would be treated with acupuncture at Hai hour (21-23 o'clock). The patient arrived at 9:30 in the evening, and acupuncture was performed immediately. The needle was left in for half an hour and twisted every 5 minutes. After the needle is removed, you can move your thumb without feeling any pain. After that, the patient was basically cured after three consecutive acupunctures at the acupuncture point. The patient sincerely imitated ancient Chinese etiquette, clasped his hands in fists, performed a hand-over salute and bowed in thanks.
2. Open acupoints regularly and cooperate with other methods
Example 2: Tore, male, 50 years old, car driver. I have suffered from frozen shoulder for more than a year. Massage and general acupuncture can temporarily relieve the pain, but over time it returns to the same condition, affecting my work.
I came to the clinic at 3pm on January 20, 1995. The day stem of that day was Xin (Xinhai). Check out the "Application Chart of Feiteng Eight Methods" and Waiguan can be used to treat shoulder pain. The time stem for opening the Waiguan acupoint is Geng. Check the time stem and branch calculation table and the day and time stem and branch calculation chart to know that the time stem is Geng to open the outer gate at Yin hour (3 to 5 am) of the day. Since the time for opening the acupuncture points has passed, today I will use the eye needle to acupuncture the Ashi point in the upper focus area and the shoulder pain point. And agreed to come back tomorrow (Renzi) at Xu time. Because the Shi Qian of Ren Rixu opened the outer gate for Geng.
After the patient came, he asked about the shoulder pain last night. He replied that the shoulder pain worsened after midnight. Today, open the outer gate first, then needle the upper focus area, and leave the needle for 30 minutes. After the needle was removed, the patient was asked to raise the affected limb, and he was able to slowly raise his hand above his head. The patient is happy but in pain.
On the day of Chagui (January 22, 1995), the Shen time, the noon time on Day A (23rd), and the Chen time on Day B (24th), the stems at that time are all "G", which is when the Waiguan acupoint is opened, and the patient is asked to press After a few hours of acupuncture, repeated 4 times in a row, the shoulder pain disappeared and I could lift freely. No recurrence was found during two-month follow-up.
3. Open acupoints on time and perform acupuncture and moxibustion together
Example 3: Eira, female, 35 years old, doctor at Fenlai Hospital. I had sudden and recurring severe pain in my lower abdomen for two days. After B-ultrasound, gynecological examination and laparoscopy, the diagnosis was not clear, so she was hospitalized for observation. Severe pain in the lower abdomen has occurred for two days. Since the cause has not been found, Western medicine only provides general infusion and sedation treatment. When we consulted, the patient had a painful face, distended and painful lower abdomen that refused to be pressed, a pale tongue with white coating, and a slow, stringy pulse.
This disease is equivalent to the "cold hernia and abdominal pain" in "The Golden Chamber". "Suwen ● Bi Lun" says: "The pain is caused by excessive cold air, and the pain is due to coldness." "Su Wen. Treatise on Bi Pain" also says: "The cold air enters the meridians and is delayed… guesting on the pulse In the middle, Qi is blocked, so there is pain due to stroke." Therefore, cold stagnates the meridians of the lower abdomen, which causes pain due to blockage, which is the pathogenesis of this disease. Therefore, it is advisable to warm the meridians and dredge collaterals.
It was November 15, 1994, and the day stem was Yi (Yi Ji). It was 11:10 am (noon). Check the hour stem and branch calculation table and the day and hour stem and branch calculation chart. The hour stem at noon is "Ren". Check the "Application Diagram of the Eight Methods of Feiteng". Ren is the code name of Gongsun, so Gongsun was opened at this time. It just so happens that Gongsun is the intersection point of Chongmai and Spleen meridian. Chongmai is the main meridian of women, and it starts from the lower abdomen and passes through the lower abdomen. Therefore, first acupuncture Gongsun, moxibustion Guanyuan, Qihai, Huihui. The pain was relieved after 15 minutes, and acupuncture and moxibustion were continued for 15 minutes. The patient only felt a dull pain in his lower abdomen.
I visited the ward the next day and the nurse said that the patient had no more abdominal pain since yesterday's acupuncture. He went home this morning and was ready to go to work in the afternoon.
The Feiteng Eight Methods can only be used to select acupoints on time for acute diseases, that is, treat the patient when he comes, and acupuncture the acupoints at that time. Regardless of whether the acupoints selected are consistent with the condition, the acupoints must be consistent with rapid curative effect, as in this patient with severe abdominal pain. If the acupuncture is not consistent, opening acupoints at the same time will also help the meridians adjust themselves, thus exerting a certain therapeutic effect.
Ziwu Liuzhu, Linggui Bafa and Feiteng Bafa are all time therapies of Chinese Taoist acupuncture. Although this type of time series acupuncture therapy is ancient, it still has high practical value for today's chronic and difficult diseases (including some acute diseases).
Practice has proven that this series of time acupuncture therapy is more effective than general acupuncture therapy. Because general acupuncture therapy uses "three-dimensional positioning", that is, the two-dimensional coordinates of the meridian and latitudinal lines of the acupuncture points on the body surface, plus a needle insertion depth, form a three-dimensional space. In time acupuncture therapy, adding a time coordinate forms a "four-dimensional space-time coordinate." Human beings, like nature, change with changes in time and space, and their physiological activities show biological rhythms due to periodic changes in time and space. Therefore, time acupuncture therapy not only has one more dimension than the "three dimensions" of general acupuncture in terms of accuracy of acupoint selection, but also can better comply with objective laws and better exert the regulatory effect of acupuncture from the perspective of time and space changes. , so it is better than the curative effect of general acupuncture.
The Eight Trigrams of Turtle and Feiteng are based on the "Bagua" theory. Some people believe that the Bagua in "Book of Changes" has been derived to the "Five Dimensions", the fourth dimension is the dimension of time, and the fifth dimension is the dimension of life. Only the multi-level structure of the five-dimensional space can fully explain the complexity of all things in the world, including life, and it can be regarded as "prepared between heaven and earth!" The reason why it is the same time acupuncture method, but the acupoint opening time is different, is because The relationship between the multi-level structure of five-dimensional space and time also reflects the complexity of life activities. At the same time, it also shows that Ziwu Liuzhu Acupuncture, Linggui Eight Methods and Feiteng Eight Methods are not perfect, but only solve certain problems in a certain aspect and at a certain level. There may be better time needle methods available in the future. Starting from a movement and changing view of time and space is undoubtedly superior to a fixed way of thinking.
With the rapid development of modern science and technology and time medicine, it has been further confirmed that this series of time acupuncture methods are scientific and have more development and research value. If it can be organically combined with modern high-tech, this ancient acupuncture method will surely be rejuvenated.
