Sha Monk is the most complex character in Journey to the West. 01 Sha Monk was sealed as a rolling curtain general just after he became an immortal, but was demoted to the lower realm because of a glass lamp. What is the official position of General Rolling Curtain? Sha Monk's introduction to his position is: I am honored in Nantianmen, and I am honored in front of Lingxiao Hall. I will be the first to escort you when you come and go, and I will follow you when you come in and out. This is the Jade Emperor's personal bodyguard, who follows the Jade Emperor wherever he goes. Because of the special nature of personal guards, they are usually people whom they trust very much. Sha Monk is the person whom the Jade Emperor trusts? Why did he become the general of the rolling curtain? What is a glass cup? It should be a glass container, relatively expensive. Glass lamps also appear three times in Journey to the West. The first time is the daughter's country. "The attendant quickly took several parrot cups, cormorant ladles, gold bowls, silver chisels, glass cups, crystal basins, Penglai bowls, and amber bells, filled them with jade liquid, and even poured in the nectar. Sure enough, each of them drank a round." The second time is outside the Kou Yuan, "There are five fresh clouds on the carved lacquer table, and the incense petals are accumulated in the carved lacquer box. The pure water is clear in the glass lamp; the sesame oil is bright in the glass lamp. The sound of a golden chime has a faint rhyme." The third place is Li Shimin gave Tang Monk a celebration: an amber cup, a glass cup, inlaid with gold and jade; a gold plate, a white jade bowl, inlaid with brocade and flowers. These three places are all important occasions. It can be seen that glass lamps are more expensive, but they can only be regarded as expensive, but not unique. Why did the Jade Emperor demote his personal bodyguard because of such a thing? Many interpretations have also noticed this, so they interpreted this as the Jade Emperor deliberately demoting Sha Seng to the lower realm in order to sneak into the Buddhist scriptures team and work as an undercover agent for himself. This view completely ignores the Jade Emperor's attitude towards seeking scriptures. In fact, the Jade Emperor is supportive of Buddhist scriptures. Since you support seeking Buddhist scriptures, why do you want to send people from the Buddhist scriptures team as undercover agents? Since he supports Buddhist scriptures, why does Sha Monk join the Buddhist scriptures team but does not contribute?
02 Sha Monk ate nine generations of sutra collectors and hindered the spread of sutras. Why did Guanyin let him enter the sutra collection team? This is what Sha Monk himself said: "Bodhisattva, I have eaten countless people here. I have eaten several people who came here to seek Buddhist scriptures." Regarding this issue, we have mentioned something before, that is, the Liusha River is on the way to the west. The only way to go, and it is completely impossible to get through it with human power, not to mention that there are monsters like Sha Monk around. Maybe assimilation and absorption is the most convenient way. But there is another point. The Buddhist sect in Journey to the West is not a kind person. They will do anything to develop. Why didn't they get rid of Sha Seng? It's not without excuses to get rid of Sha Seng, after all, Sha Seng is here to eat people. It is said that the Jade Emperor is behind Sha Monk, and the Buddhist sect does not dare to get rid of him. This point is not valid, why? Do you still remember what happened at the Peach Fair when Sha Seng was demoted? The lion spirit of the Buddhist sect led people to block the Nantian Gate of the Jade Emperor, frightening the heavenly soldiers who did not dare to go out. If the Buddhist sect dares to slap the Jade Emperor in the face on such an important occasion as the Peach Festival, will it consider the Jade Emperor's face and not kill Sha Seng on a major issue of its own development?
03 Sha Seng joined the Buddhist scripture-seeking team but rarely contributed. During the process of fetching scriptures, Sha Monk only killed one monkey monster. This was because the monkey monster changed his appearance. Sha Monk killed it in a fit of anger. Other than that, there is nothing more. When awarding the award, Tathagata's evaluation of Monk Sha was, "Sincerely respect Kachi and protect the holy monk. He has done meritorious service in climbing mountains and leading horses. He has been promoted to a great position and has become a golden Arhat." Protecting Tang Monk is a bit far-fetched, because the main job of protecting Tang Monk is Sun Wukong is doing it, but Sha Seng cannot even protect himself in many cases, let alone protect Tang Seng. Then his only credit is to lead the horse, but Tang Monk's white horse is not an ordinary horse, it is a dragon horse transformed from a little white dragon. Does it need to be held by someone? What is Sha Monk’s contribution to the Buddhist scripture-seeking team? Some interpretations also see Sha Seng's inaction, but they interpret this performance as Sha Seng is a smart man who only works but does not contribute any effort. He exerts the least effort and gets the same reward as Zhu Bajie, and has the highest income-to-investment ratio. Seeing this interpretation, I really want to say, is it appropriate to explain inaction in such a fresh and refined way? Some people may want to say that Sha Monk himself is not strong enough and has no chance to contribute. Isn't it good to just do what is within his own ability? This is about a conversation between Zhu Bajie and Sun Wukong. In the twenty-third chapter, the scripture-seeking team has just gathered its members.
Zhu Bajie said: "Brother, you only know that you walk easily, why do you care about others' tiredness? Since I crossed the Liusha River, I have been climbing mountains and ridges, carrying heavy loads, which is very difficult! You must be looking for someone to live with. Then make some tea and rice, and secondly, nourish your spirit, that's the truth." The traveler said: "Idiot, you seem to have a grudge in your words. It's still like in Gaolaozhuang, where you can be lazy and not seek blessings. I'm afraid you can't "Yes. Since you are an upright ascetic, you must endure hardships before you can become a disciple." Zhu Bajie complained that the luggage was too heavy, and Sun Wukong said that he might not be able to be as comfortable as Gao Laozhuang. Since he has become a disciple, he needs to suffer some hardships. Bajie said: "Brother, do you think this baggage weighs?" The traveler said: "Brother, since I got you and Sha Seng, I have never carried it, so how do you know how much it weighs?" Bajie said: "Brother, look at the weight. What: Four pieces of yellow vine, eight ropes long and short. To protect against rain, it was wrapped with three or four layers of felt. The shoulder strap was still slippery, so nails were nailed on both ends. A nine-ring staff made of copper and iron, and a large cloak wrapped with silk vines. Like this It’s hard for an old pig to carry such a lot of luggage, so why should you be an apprentice with the master and take me as a long-term worker?” Zhu Bajie counted the luggage from beginning to end and said, “It’s hard for an old pig to carry such a lot of luggage. The Zhuri family has to carry the burden, but you are the apprentice with the master and you use me as a long-term worker!" As soon as this sentence was said, the purpose was very clear. It’s hard for an old pig, who else could be there besides Zhu Bajie? And Sha Seng. Sha Seng can share the luggage. "Why don't you become the master's apprentice and use me as a long-term worker!" Who else is the master's apprentice? And Sha Seng. This is obvious. Zhu Bajie complained so much, but he was actually complaining to Sha Monk, in order to let Sha Monk share his luggage with him or let Sha Monk carry his luggage.
Sun Wukong is such a smart person, how can he not understand the meaning of Zhu Bajie’s words? The traveler smiled and said, "Idiot, who are you talking to?" It seemed that Sun Wukong asked with a smile, "Who are you talking to?" In fact, Sun Wukong is saying, Bajie, who are you talking to? It's a pity that Zhu Bajie didn't say it clearly, but said, "Brother, let me tell you." In fact, Zhu Bajie wanted Sun Wukong to speak for him and let Sha Monk carry his luggage. Sun Wukong also heard what Zhu Bajie meant, but he didn't want to care. That's why Sun Wukong said, "Tell me about your mistake. Old Sun only cares about his master, and you and Sha Monk are responsible for the luggage and horses. But if you neglect a little bit, Guguai will be beaten with a rough stick first!" Sun Wukong meant, don't Tell me, I only care about the safety of the master. You and Sha Seng will divide the luggage and horses. If you feel that the distribution is unreasonable, tell Sha Seng that I don't care. Bajie said: "Brother, don't talk about beating, beating is to bully others. I know that you are arrogant, so you will definitely refuse to challenge; but the horse that the master rides is so tall and fat, and it only carries the old monk. One, teach him how to carry a few things, it is also a matter of brotherhood." Seeing that Sun Wukong did not speak for him, Zhu Bajie came up with the idea of letting the white dragon horse carry part of the luggage. The traveler said: "You said he is a horse! He is not an ordinary horse. He is the son of Ao Run, the Dragon King of the West Sea. He is named the Third Prince Longma. He was accused by his father of being disobedient and violating the laws of nature because he set fire to the pearl in the palace. Thanks to Guanyin Bodhisattva, he saved his life. He waited for his master for a long time in the Yingchou steep stream. Fortunately, the Bodhisattva came in person, but he removed his scales and horns, took off the beads from his neck, and then transformed into this horse. Master, go to the west to worship Buddha. This is the result of everyone’s merits, so don’t try to compete with them.
"Drifting monk came out to talk at this time, "Brother, is this really a dragon? "His conversation showed that he had heard the above conversation between Sun Wukong and Zhu Bajie. In this conversation, Zhu Bajie's intention was very obvious, which was to give part of the luggage to Sha Seng or let Sha Seng pick it up. Baggage, find a light job by yourself. Sha Seng can't understand? Sun Wukong has heard Zhu Bajie's intention. Sha Seng, who is often around the Jade Emperor and is well versed in human relations, will he know what Zhu Bajie means by these words? And he He didn't answer a word. You said what you said, and I pretended not to hear it. This shows that Sha Seng just doesn't want to contribute, not that he doesn't have a chance.
04Every question feels so complicated. How should we interpret it? In fact, as long as we know who the forces behind Sha Seng are, all these problems will be easily solved. So who is behind Sha Seng? To understand who the forces behind Sha Monk are, we must first understand what is Sha Monk’s attitude toward Buddhist scriptures? After all, position determines attitude, and attitude can also reflect his position. You may think this question is silly when you see it, but do you need to ask it? The monks are rushing to enter the Buddhist scriptures team. Do they still not support the Buddhist scriptures and hope that the Buddhist scriptures will fail? We analyze it in detail. Let’s take a look at the first encounter between the Buddhist scripture-seeking team and Sha Monk. The three masters and disciples were blocked by the Liusha River and were reading the inscriptions. At this time Sha Monk suddenly came out. "That strange whirlwind came up to the shore and snatched Tang Monk. The monk was so panicked that he hugged his master, climbed to the high bank, and turned around to escape." The attack by Sha Monk was sudden, and the purpose was very clear, "Tang Monk was kidnapped." Sun Wukong had no time to stop him, so he could only hug Tang Monk and run away. Here we are going to talk about it. What did Guanyin ask Sha Monk to do here? Waiting for the disciples. The original text says, "Clean your mind and worry. If you don't harm any living beings anymore, just wait for those who want to learn the scriptures." What about the promise that you won't harm living beings? Now that the pilgrims are here, you go up and grab them? This is not harmful to living beings, but specifically harmful to those who seek scriptures, right? How did Zhu Bajie, who was also recruited by Guanyin, do? No more killing and eating people, finding other people to contribute to earn food, and when hearing people seeking Buddhist scriptures, put down their weapons and surrender. This is the performance of those who are waiting to learn Buddhist scriptures. Some people may say that Sha Seng doesn't know Tang Seng. Sun Wukong and Zhu Bajie are both powerful. It's no problem to just attack the weakest person. But don’t forget, all the pilgrims in the previous nine lives died at the hands of Sha Monk. Wouldn’t he know that the pilgrims were monks? Now when you see a monk, you don't ask if he is a Buddhist monk, but directly attack the monk. Is this reasonable? Besides, aren’t the characteristics of a monk obvious? Besides, all the nine Buddhist monks in the past nine generations died at the hands of Sha Monk. Is this a coincidence? Although the Liusha River is the first natural barrier on the westward journey, Sha Monk clearly knew that they were nine generations of pilgrims and ate them all, which in itself showed that he did not want the Buddhist sect to succeed. So I think Sha Seng’s attack was intentional, and the purpose was Tang Seng. If Sun Wukong hadn’t saved him, Tang Seng would most likely become the tenth skeleton on Sha Seng’s neck, and Sha Seng would give a perfect explanation, this is a misunderstanding.
05 Let’s talk about the White Bone Demon. The White Bone Demon transformed into a human being many times and deceived Tang Monk. Sun Wukong saw through the transformation and beat him to death. For his own selfish desires, Zhu Bajie used the topic to encourage Tang Seng to recite the Tightening Curse, and finally Tang Seng drove Sun Wukong away. Throughout the story, Sha Seng never said a word. Finally, Sun Wukong said to Sha Seng, "Xian brother, you are a good person, but you only need to be careful about Bajie's words, and you must be more careful on the way. If a goblin catches the master for a moment, you can say that Lao Sun is his great disciple." The Western hairy monsters, after hearing my tricks, dare not hurt my master." The meaning of Sun Wukong's words was very obvious. He hoped that Sha Seng would say something for him, don't let the master drive him away, and save the Buddhist scriptures team. Unexpectedly, Sha Seng The monk still said nothing. Later, Sun Wukong approached Sha Monk about this matter. At Kuimulang, Sun Wukong said to Sha Monk, "You Shani! Master, can you help me by reciting the "Tightening Mantra"?" If Sha Monk hopes to succeed in learning the scriptures, why doesn't Sha Monk not do it when the team falls apart? Say a few more words to save the Buddhist scripture collection team. His silence or even a cold stare showed that he didn't care whether the Buddhist scripture collection team was complete, because he didn't care about the success of the Buddhist scripture collection. Regarding the separation of the Buddhist team caused by the White Bone Demon, there is a bug in it that we need to talk about. The White Bone Demon finally transformed into an old man. Because of the previous two lessons, Sun Wukong did not take action directly, but summoned the earth and mountain gods to testify for him. "O great sage, he recited a spell and called Dangfang Tutu and the local mountain god to say: "This goblin has come to tease my master three times, but this time he wants to kill him. You and I are testifying in mid-air and are not allowed to leave.
"The gods listen to orders, who dares to disobey? They are all taking care of them in the clouds." But when Tang Monk drove Sun Wukong away, Sun Wukong did not ask the gods to testify for him, so why didn't he ask the gods to prove that he killed a monster? Rather than a mortal? This proves his innocence and he doesn't have to leave the Buddhist scripture-seeking team. The author pointed out this point, but did not write about it. So what is the use of this paragraph? Directly write that when Sun Wukong saw the old man, he couldn't help but beat him to death. The story can develop as it should, so why waste time here? I think this bug was deliberately designed by the author himself. There are three purposes. First, set up loopholes to prove that the dispersion of the team is not necessary this time, and there are ways to solve it. Second, if Sun Wukong asked an immortal to testify for himself that he had not left the Buddhist scripture-seeking team and that the Buddhist scripture-seeking team was still intact, then Sha Monk's silence was a normal sign. Now that Sun Wukong had really left the Buddhist scripture-seeking team, then Sha Monk's silence was a normal sign. There is no reasonable explanation. The author wants to use the dispersion of the team and Sha Monk's inaction to reflect his stance and attitude towards Buddhist scriptures. Third, the dispersion of the team this time is to pave the way for the story that follows. Kui Mulang’s story requires the team to be dispersed (this will be discussed later), so we cannot write about this point. Although we cannot write about this point, But this point cannot be omitted. Without this passage, then this separation is an intensification of conflicts within the Buddhist scripture-seeking team, which is inevitable. If Sha Seng talks too much, it may further intensify or complicate the conflicts. It seems reasonable for him not to speak. . The bug in this paragraph is to subvert the direction of the story of White Bone Demon. The purpose is to show that there is a problem with this separation, and behind this problem is a bigger problem, that is, Sha Seng's unrescuing. To express Sha Seng's position.
Besides, after Sun Wukong was kicked out of the team, Sha Seng always inadvertently left Tang Seng alone. The first time was at Kuimulang, when Sun Wukong left the Buddhist scripture-seeking team because of the White Bone Demon. Zhu Bajie went to beg for alms and found a place to sleep. Sha Seng left Tang Seng alone in the black pine forest and went to find Zhu Bajie, but Tang Seng was captured by Kui Mulang. The second time was at the six-eared macaque. Sun Wukong was once again kicked out of the scripture-seeking team, and Zhu Bajie went to fetch water. Tang Monk was so hungry and thirsty that Sha Monk once again left Tang Monk alone in the barren mountains and wilderness to find Zhu Bajie. As a result, Tang Monk was almost beaten to death by a six-eared macaque.
06What kind of existence is Tang Monk in the world of Journey to the West? In Chapter 31, Sun Wukong said: "The master is in trouble every step of the way, and deserves disaster everywhere." When the three apprentices were there, the monsters tried their best to catch them. When they separated at the White Bone Demon, Sun Wukong specifically told Sha Seng, "Be more careful on the way." A few days after Sun Wukong said this, Sha Seng turned around and forgot, leaving Tang Seng alone in the black pine forest. Not to mention that Tang Seng was unable to resist the monsters, but even if the wolves, insects, tigers and leopards came, Tang Seng would probably be gone. Sha Seng really didn't take Tang Seng's safety seriously.
07 Let’s talk about a paragraph in the chapter Pipa Jing. Sun Wukong fought with Pipa Jing, injured his head, and was defeated. He told Sha Monk Zhu Bajie what happened in the cave. Bajie said: "Does this mean we can't have a rest? Don't worry about it at dusk and midnight, go to his door to challenge, yell and make trouble, and disturb him from sleeping. Don't let him play tricks on my master." Because Pipa Jing wants to To seduce Tang Seng, and Tang Seng also said, "The water is high, the boat is in a hurry, but the sand is stuck in the sand, and the horse is late." In this case, if the Pipa Spirit really wants to force himself, Tang Seng may really obey. That's why Zhu Bajie said, "Keep him awake, don't teach him to play tricks on my master.|" He was afraid that if Tang Monk really lost his temper, then this sutra might not be obtained. The traveler said: "I have a headache, I can't go!" Why did Sun Wukong complain that he had a headache and didn't go to save Tang Monk? This was Sun Wukong's intention. As for why he deliberately did not save Tang Seng, this needs to be explained in detail later in the context. Sha Monk said: "There is no need to fight. Firstly, my brother has a headache. Secondly, my master is a true monk and will never mess up his nature with color and emptiness. He will sit at the foot of the hillside in a wind-proof place for a whole night to recuperate his spirit. We'll discuss it later in the morning." At this time, Sha Seng also came out to back off, and said that Tang Seng was a real monk and would not have sexual intercourse. But both Sun Wukong and Zhu Bajie heard the meaning of Tang Seng's words and knew that Tang Seng could not control it anymore. Sun Wukong had his own purpose, so he didn't save Tang Seng, so he excused himself from saving Tang Seng because he had a headache. So what is Sha Seng's purpose? I still don’t want to learn from the experience successfully. If Guanyin hadn't appeared in time, Tang Seng might have really had sexual intercourse.
08 To sum up, Sha Monk did not make any contribution to obtain the Buddhist scriptures, and did not even try to make any effort. He killed Tang Monk the first time he saw Tang Monk, and did not save the Buddhist scripture-collecting team when the team fell apart. He was always there when Sun Wukong was not in the team. , leaving Tang Monk alone in the wilderness, regardless of Tang Monk's safety. All signs indicate that Sha Monk does not hope to succeed in seeking Buddhist scriptures. Since Sha Monk’s position is that he doesn’t want the Buddhist scriptures to be successful, then in the world of Journey to the West, who has a position that doesn’t want the Buddhist scriptures to be successful? Of course, the Taoist sect does not want the Buddhist scriptures to succeed, but the Taoist sect’s manager, the Jade Emperor, supports the Buddhist scriptures, so who else? It can only be Sanqing who has a higher status than the Jade Emperor. Laojun tried his best to facilitate the Buddhist scripture study and sent two apprentices to join the Buddhist scripture study team. He definitely hoped that the Buddhist scripture study would be successful. Then only Yuanshi Tianzun and Lingbao Tianzun are left. These two heavenly beings definitely do not support the Buddhist sect’s propagation of scriptures. Why? Because of issues of stance and interests, success in seeking sutras will inevitably bring development to the Buddhist sect. What kind of development will it look like? It is unknown, but the cake of the Tang Dynasty is so big, and the development of the Buddhist sect will inevitably reduce the strength of the Taoist sect in the Tang Dynasty. This is what the top leader of the Taoist sect does not want to see. In fact, once this point of view is raised, it will lead to more questions. Below I will answer my own questions.
09 The two Tianzun are the highest leaders of the Taoist sect and the strongest existences in Journey to the West. Since they do not support the pursuit of scriptures, why not directly stop them head-on? There are three reasons. First, there is an upright reason for learning scriptures. Strictly speaking, retrieving scriptures was an act of Emperor Li Shimin of the Tang Dynasty. For his own selfish desires, Li Shimin sent Tang Monk to the West to help him retrieve the Mahayana Buddhist scriptures. It is not that Buddhism went to the Tang Dynasty to spread Mahayana Buddhist scriptures and develop its own strength. There is a strict difference between the two. As a leader of the Taoist sect, it is not easy to stop this matter head-on. This is also the reason why Guanyin made many arrangements during her three years in the Tang Dynasty. She asked Li Shimin to travel to the underworld, believe in the afterlife, conduct water and land Dharma gatherings, and then come out to teach Mahayana Buddhism. Second, the Buddhist sect itself is not strong enough. In the world of Journey to the West, the Buddhist sect is not very powerful. The Tathagata, the supreme leader, is the strength of the Five Elders. There are four emperors between him and the Three Pure Ones of the Taoist sect. The development of Buddhism itself is not good either. Although the Buddhist sect is the second largest sect in Journey to the West, it is still not good enough compared to the Taoist sect. There is no need for the two Heavenly Lords to confront an action of the Buddhist sect head-on. Third, even if the sutra-seeking operation is successful, it is difficult to say how the Buddhist sect will develop. After all, the Tang Dynasty still admired the Taoist sect. Maybe after retrieving the Mahayana Buddhist scriptures, Li Shimin would no longer value the Buddhist sect after completing the Water and Land Dharma Assembly. There is no need for the two Tianzun to take action. Even if it is successful, the effect will be unknown.
10 Are the forces behind Sha Seng the two Heavenly Lords? Yes. Besides having the same stance, what other reasons are there? First, Sha Seng was not a close associate of the Jade Emperor. When he was conferred as a god, he was placed directly next to the Jade Emperor as his personal bodyguard. If Laojun wanted to save his face, he would only give Zhu Bajie the false position of Marshal Tianpeng. As for the position of General Rolling Curtain, he is the personal bodyguard beside the Jade Emperor. He is very familiar with the words and deeds of the Jade Emperor. Except for the two Heavenly Lords, no one has this ability. Second, Sha Monk ate nine generations of pilgrims in the Liusha River, but the Buddhist sect did not dare to touch Sha Monk. As we have said before, the Buddhist sect dared to block the Jade Emperor's door at such a grand banquet as the Peach Club, but did not dare to touch the Sha Monk who hindered his preaching of scriptures. This only shows that the power behind the Sha Monk is stronger than that of the Jade Emperor. Third, the two Heavenly Lords emptied the Jade Emperor's rights and needed someone to monitor the Jade Emperor's words and deeds. Drifting monks are the spies sent by the two gods to monitor the Jade Emperor's words and deeds.
11 The forces behind Sha Monk are two heavenly beings. Why did the Jade Emperor demote him to earth and pierce his heart with a sword? As we mentioned before, the Jade Emperor was robbed of his power by the two Heavenly Lords. In order to regain his control over the Heavenly Court, he used Sun Wukong to take the blame and implemented his own flat peach plan. At the second Peach Fair, the Jade Emperor did not invite Manjushri and Samantabhadra from the Buddhist sect. He wanted to kill a chicken to wait for him and put pressure on all the gods. However, he failed to kill the chicken and was pecked in the eye by the chicken. Manjushri Bodhisattva sent his own lion spirit to attack the Nantian Gate, frightening the heavenly soldiers to dare not go out. There was still no immortal to help the Jade Emperor to rescue him. This also heralded the failure of the Jade Emperor's peach plan. The failure of the Peach Plan indicates that if the Jade Emperor wants to take back his rights from the two Heavenly Lords, he can only use more powerful means. No matter what kind of means, the two Heavenly Lords must be kept secret. But the Jade Emperor's personal bodyguard, General Rolling Shutter, is a member of the two Heavenly Lords, so he must be eliminated first. The so-called breaking of the glass cup is just to inflict a crime. Even if Sha Monk did not break the glass cup but just drank and spilled the wine, the Jade Emperor could still be said to have violated etiquette and was demoted to the mortal world. The Jade Emperor chose to demote Sha Seng to the mortal world in front of the Sanqing at the Peach Fair in order to show it to the gods and the two deities, showing that he no longer wanted to be manipulated by others. Including the Jade Emperor's later support for the Buddhist sect's plan to obtain scriptures, out of consideration for his own interests, and to a certain extent, he also deliberately opposed the two deities. Although the Jade Emperor demoted Sha Seng to the mortal world, he did not dare to execute him. After all, Sha Seng belonged to the two Heavenly Lords. If the Jade Emperor wanted to execute Sha Seng, neither of the two Heavenly Lords would agree. If Sha Monk is executed, what will the other gods who serve the two deities think? Tianzun can't even save our lives? Where do you put the face of these two Heavenly Lords? The Jade Emperor could find excuses to remove the Tianzun's people from his side, and he could show his dissatisfaction, but he did not have the guts to slap the two Tianzun in the face. But how can the anger of the Jade Emperor be eliminated by simply being demoted to the mortal world? The failure of Pantao's plan, the humiliation of Pantao being blocked by the Buddhist sect, the helplessness of the gods for not helping, the Sha Monk's undercover status with the Jade Emperor for many years, the dissatisfaction with the two deities, all the anger was vented on Sha Monk A chess piece was placed on his body, so he "taught me once every seven days to pierce my chest and side more than a hundred times with a flying sword."
12 Sha Monk ate Tang Monk nine times before. Why didn’t the Buddhist sect get rid of Sha Monk? In order to show his attitude, the Jade Emperor demoted Sha Seng to the mortal world in front of the gods and the Three Pure Ones at the Peach Fair. It can be seen that Sha Seng was a member of the two deities, and this matter was not a secret in heaven. Buddhists definitely know this relationship. The Jade Emperor did not dare to execute Sha Seng easily, and the Buddhist sect did not dare to get rid of Sha Seng. Why does Guanyin let Sha Monk enter the Buddhist team? There are three reasons. 1. The Liusha River is the only road that runs between Rhinoceros Hezhou and Nanzhan Buzhou. The Liusha River spans eight hundred miles, tens of thousands of miles up and down, and there is no way around it. Avalokitesvara looked at it and said, "How can the Buddhist monks cross the mortal body with turbid bones?" 2. There are not only weak water in the river, where goose feathers cannot float, but also monsters like Sha Monk. Pass, cannot pass, eliminate, cannot eliminate. Letting him advance through the team may be the best way to deal with it. You don't have to fight and kill, but you can also let him help cross the river, killing two birds with one stone. 3. Avalokitesvara is determined. Although Sha Monk is a member of the two deities and does not want the Buddhist scriptures to be successful, he does not dare to directly destroy the Buddhist scriptures. Some small actions cannot damage the Buddhist scriptures and are within the controllable range. Moreover, in order to let Sha Monk join the Buddhist team, the Bodhisattva did not hesitate to lie to him. When recruiting three disciples, the condition given to Zhu Bajie was "Exchange your merits and punish your sins, and discipline you to escape the disaster." The condition given to Sun Wukong was "Teach him to save you, uphold the teachings and blessings, be like me in Buddhism, and then correct the consequences." The condition he gave Sha Seng was, "If the flying sword does not come to pierce you, you will be exempted from guilt at that time and you will be restored to your duties." The conditions given to Zhu Bajie and Sun Wukong were both fair and feasible. But the condition given to Sha Monk is to restore you to your duties. Can Guanyin do it? As we analyzed earlier, Sha Monk was an undercover agent sent by the two Heavenly Lords to the Jade Emperor. The Jade Emperor demoted Sha Monk to earth just to show that he no longer wanted to be manipulated by the two Heavenly Lords, and the so-called breaking of the glass cup was just an excuse. And all the gods are well aware of this matter. Does Guanyin have the ability to reinstate him? Definitely not. And after finally succeeding in learning the scriptures, Guanyin did not fulfill her promise. Guanyin understood even more clearly that it was impossible for him to reinstate Sha Monk. The promise he made at that time was just to help Rasha Monk advance his team and appease Sha Monk not to cause trouble. It is the Buddhist sect's helplessness to let Sha Monk enter the Buddhist team, but the convenience he brings far outweighs the disadvantages he may bring.
13 The forces behind Sha Monk are two Heavenly Lords, and they don’t want the Buddhist scriptures to be successful. Why doesn’t he just kill Tang Monk directly or directly sabotage the Buddhist scriptures? When Sun Wukong was away, Sha Seng had many opportunities to kill Tang Seng directly, but he only did the small trick of leaving Tang Seng alone in the wilderness. Sha Monk did not dare to directly disrupt the Buddhist scriptures. Sha Seng is indeed the chess piece of the two Tianzuns, but how important is this chess piece to the Tianzun? What will the Tianzun do for this chess piece? To put it bluntly, if Sha Monk directly kills Tang Monk, and the Buddhist sect wants to execute Sha Monk for deceiving his master and destroying his ancestors, will the two Heavenly Lords protect themselves? Sha Monk himself must have considered this question, and the answer is not difficult to think of. The Jade Emperor demoted him to heaven and asked the flying sword to pierce him. The two deities did not speak up for him, which shows what position he was in the hands of the two deities. In this way, Sha Monk's position in the Buddhist scripture collection team is very awkward. If he helps the Buddhist scripture collection team, how will he explain to the two deities? If Buddhist scriptures are destroyed and Buddhists hold themselves accountable, who can protect themselves? So he could only do nothing and let the situation develop. If the sutra collection is successful, the Buddhist sect will not blame itself. It has not contributed to the sutra collection. It has also explained to the two deities that there is no chance. Moreover, the two deities do not care much about this sutra collection activity. If the Buddhist scriptures failed, that was the problem of the Buddhist scriptures team itself. The responsibility could not be traced to themselves. Since it failed, the two Heavenly Lords would not blame themselves. This is the fundamental reason why Monk Sha not only did not contribute to the sutra collection, but also did not speak when the sutra collection team fell apart, putting Tang Monk in a dangerous situation and ignoring him.
14 Yu Qiuyu once said, "The most illogical place must have the deepest logic buried in it." The author buried Sha Seng's line so deeply that every turn of Sha Seng's turns seemed so abrupt and bizarre. Illogical. He was a general who had just become a god, but he was demoted to the mortal world for a glass lamp. When he came down to earth, he happened to eat the ninth generation of Buddhist monks. After eating the ninth generation of Buddhist monks, not only did he not suffer revenge from the Buddhist sect, but he also joined the group of Buddhist monks. , in the Buddhist scriptures team, not only did they not contribute, but they often made small moves. We analyzed Sha Seng’s bizarre past and various unreasonable words and deeds in the Buddhist scripture-seeking team to analyze his position. Through his position, we dug out the two Heavenly Lords hidden behind him. Using the line of the two Heavenly Lords, we Only when all the illogical aspects of Sha Seng are connected together can the true face of Sha Seng be seen clearly. Here we have to praise the author again, because Sun Wukong has the aura of the protagonist, and the author has a lot of space to write about him. Many details are buried in different stories. We will have questions when reading it, but it is not so abrupt. Because the story background of Zhu Bajie is not that complicated, there won’t be many problems if the length is short. But Sha Seng is completely different. His story is complicated and tortuous, involves many characters and interests, and has a long timeline. The key is that there is not much space to write about him. It is in this case that the author seizes the important turning points in the early stage to write, and after entering the team, he seizes the details to write. Every point of Sha Seng is grasped just right, which arouses the reader's desire to explore without making the reader blindly guess. As long as the author grasps the points given by the author, there is only one true image. Lao Wang: Wu Chengen really doesn’t think so.
