Inspired by questions frequently asked by some friends and fans, the editor decided to start a new series called the Encyclopedia of Warcraft, dedicated to popularizing various knowledge in the history of Warcraft. I hope you all like it. In this issue, we will first talk about the stories of various famous tribes of trolls.
The shape and characteristics of trolls
Trolls are the most flesh-and-blood race on Kalimdor, and they existed even before the Titans discovered Azeroth. Troll men are generally over 2.5 meters tall and weigh about 270 kilograms; troll women are generally 2 meters tall and weigh about 200 kilograms. Trolls have only three fingers on their hands and two toes on each leg, and their fangs and hairstyles are varied and wild in both sexes.
Trolls are mostly violent and warlike. They also have strong self-healing and regeneration abilities. If they can get help from the "Loa" god they believe in, they can even regenerate their broken limbs. With their strong bodies and this special regeneration ability, the troll clan quickly spread to every corner of the world, and primitive troll tribes gradually formed.
Zandalar Empire
If you want to say that the most powerful of all the troll tribes, it is undoubtedly the Zandalari. As early as about 16,000 years ago in the Hermon calendar, they established their own empire. Therefore, in the game, the Zandalari NPC's verbal remark: "Zandalari will last forever!" is not bragging, they do have a long history.
Zandalar was originally just the name of a highland, because there were many Loa gods living there, which attracted a large number of troll tribes to fight for it. In the end, one of the most powerful troll tribes defeated the other tribes and occupied most of the highlands. From then on, they called their tribe the Zandalari. A magnificent castle also rose here, which became Zuldazar, the later capital of Zandalari.
Zandalari implements a strict class rule. Their leader is called the Great King, and below are high-ranking priests and generals who are responsible for sacrifices and military affairs. This is a very effective ruling system. The Zandalar trolls have no interest in expanding their territory or war. They are committed to recording and preserving the history of the trolls, learning and researching mysterious witchcraft, and are obsessed with communicating with the Loa gods.
Zandalari Trolls
But not all trolls are happy to live such a peaceful life. The violent blood genes stimulate their desire to fight. As a result, several groups of trolls left the Zandalar Empire and went to explore the vast world outside.
amani empire
A group of trolls broke away from Zandalari and came to the woodland of eastern Kalimdor, which is full of dense forests. They settled here, and over time their bodies changed in order to adapt to the environment. Their skin changed from gray and light blue to green, and a thin layer of green moss grew on it, which was beneficial to their survival in the forest. Hide and hunt. Thereafter, they were known as forest trolls.
amani warrior
The Amani tribe is the most powerful among the forest trolls. During an expedition, they accidentally awakened a dormant ancient god general, Kisix. After paying a heavy price, the Amani trolls finally killed their powerful enemy. From then on, the ferocity and bravery of the Amani tribe began to be spread among all the troll tribes. Soon they conquered the burning thorn, rotten moss, evil tooth, fire tree, evil branch, dead wood and other tribes one by one, and unified the entire forest trolls. . The Amani trolls built their own capital, Zul'Aman, where they killed Kithix, and a new empire was born.
Gurubashi Empire
At the same time, another group of trolls broke away from Zandalari and came to the tropical rain forest in the southeastern part of Kalimdor. In order to adapt to the hot and humid climate here, their skin turned purple or gray. Their bodies are softer and lighter than other trolls. Thereafter they became known as Jungle Trolls. Like the Amani, a troll tribe named Gurubashi stood out in the years of fighting. They successively defeated the Bloodscalp, Darkspear, Shattered Spear, Skullbreaker, Zulian and other tribes. He built his own capital, Zul'Gurub, in the jungle of Stranglethorn Valley and established his own country. Afterwards, the powerful Gurubashi Empire also defeated the Yaqir Zerg that was corrupted by the ancient god C'Thun in the ruins of Ahn'Qiraj, and built the empire's second capital in the Tanaris Desert near Ahn'Qiraj. ——Zul'Farrak.
In addition to Amani and Gurubashi, there is also a tribe named Dakkari who also established their own country in the north of the continent. But it may be because the cold climate in the north makes the land too barren, and the strength of Dakkari is far less than that of Amani and Gurubashi in the south.

dark troll
There is another alternative among the troll tribes, and that is the dark trolls who live at the foot of Mount Hyjal. They have a gentle temperament and like to be close to nature. They are not interested in any battles. They did not even participate in the battle for the Zandalar Highlands. The skin of dark trolls is dark gray or dark blue, which is related to their aversion to sunlight and their living habits of staying up and coming out at night all year round.
About 15,000 years ago in the Black Gate calendar, a group of dark trolls were attracted by a strange energy and came to a lake, which later became the Well of Eternity, and they settled here. About five thousand years later, this troll group, which had been nourished by the energy of the Well of Eternity for a long time, became a brand new race, which was later called the night elves.
