The first type: wireless screen projection
The conditions required for wireless screen projection are that the display device must support the wireless screen projection function, and the wireless network must be stable enough.
1. Turn on the projector, find the wireless screen projection, and turn on the [Wi-] function. The settings will vary from projector to projector, but they are all similar.
2. Turn on the WiFi on your phone, search for the WiFi signal emitted by the TV/projector, find and click on the WiFi, and establish a connection. After the connection is successfully established, the screen on the mobile phone can be directly projected to the TV/projector.
Wireless screencasting is more convenient, but there are many restrictions. It must be in the same wifi environment, and the device must support the wireless screencasting function before it can be used.
Moreover, wireless screen projection is more likely to cause screen lag. If you only use it for office work and watching movies, it will be fine. If the screen is delayed while playing games, it will probably be a disaster!
At the same time, if the TV or projector itself does not support wireless screen projection, it can only be cast through a wired connection.
Second type: Screen projection via Type-c to HDMI cable
It has gradually become a popular trend for mobile phones to adopt the latest Type-c interface. Nowadays, new mobile phones basically have Type-c interface. Therefore, Type-c to HDMI, one cable can be used to directly project the screen, which is also a more convenient and fast method.
However, the mobile phones supported by this solution are also limited. Currently, it is known that only the Huawei released earlier supports the screen projection function and can be used in this way.
1. Plug the Type-c end directly into the mobile phone and the HDMI port directly into the TV/projector.
2. After the connection is successful, the phone will automatically pop up a prompt, including simulated keyboard, mouse and computer modes.
3. Just pull down and click on the corresponding mode to cast the screen directly without setting anything.
At this time, you can cast the screen of your mobile phone to the projector. For people who often need to travel, share PPT, and share videos, it is quite convenient to just bring a mobile phone.
Scroll down again to switch to mobile mode:
That is to say, the mobile phone and the projector can have different screens. You can cast the mobile phone screen to the projector to watch movies or share PPT, and the mobile phone can continue to browse other web pages without affecting each other. It’s the same as computer screencasting.
Moreover, the advantage of this type of wired screencasting is that it supports high-definition screencasting, the picture will not be stuck or delayed, and the game play will not be affected.
This method is indeed relatively simple. You only need to carry a cable with you when traveling, and you can cast the screen at any time. However, it is currently only supported for mobile phone users.
However, as the functions of mobile phones continue to improve, I believe that more and more mobile phones will support the screen mirroring function in the future. Screen mirroring can be easily and quickly achieved with just one cable, making it more convenient to carry around and travel for work.
The third type: via USB to HDMI/VGA converter/cable
Compared with the above type-c to HDMI wired screen projection, the advantage of this converter/wired screen projection is that it does not have so many requirements for mobile phone devices and can better support a variety of different models of mobile phones.
Let’s look at them one by one.
Let’s look at the USB conversion cable first:
Different conversion line interfaces are also different, but they are all similar.
The video conversion cable mentioned here has three different interfaces, namely USB male, USB female, and HDMI interface.
As you can see, the special thing about this conversion cable is the USB female head design. The advantage of this design is that it can be connected to a mobile phone with any interface, whether it is an Android, Type-c, or Apple interface mobile phone, as long as it is paired with the corresponding mobile phone data cable It can be used after connection, and the compatibility is stronger.
Take a look at the product usage diagram:
That means we need to prepare an additional data cable for the mobile phone interface and a charging head.
step:
1 First, connect the HDMI cable to a display device such as a TV or projector.
2 Then connect the USB male connector to the charging head and plug it in.
3Finally, connect the USB female head and the mobile phone through the mobile phone data cable.
4The connection is completed.
After connecting the device, open the phone settings, enter [Developer Options], and turn on [USB Debugging].
Some mobile phone systems have different settings, and some mobile phones may prompt you to install software. After installation, click the data cable icon in the upper right corner, and you will automatically be prompted to connect.
At this time, turn on the [USB debugging] on the phone, and then turn on the [USB network sharing] function.
After a while, the phone will automatically cast the screen to the TV or projector.
After that, it will be more convenient whether it is sharing PPT, watching movies on the big screen, playing games, or sharing photos and videos with family members. High-definition without lag, the big screen is more enjoyable.
And the biggest advantage of this method is that it works regardless of whether there is wifi, whether it is a smart TV or not, and whether it is an Android or an Apple phone.
Let’s look at the USB to HDMI/VGA converter:
In fact, the principles and methods of using this kind of converter and conversion cable are basically the same. They are also not limited to mobile phone interfaces and are compatible with old TVs and projectors.
The difference is that the converter has an additional VGA interface. When your display device does not have an HDMI interface, you can use this type of converter for high-definition screencasting.
You can see that one side of the converter is the HDMI and VGA interface connected to the TV (projector is also acceptable).
On the other side are other connection interfaces.
The [mobile phone input interface] here is a standard USB port (just like the female adapter cable in front). As long as you use the corresponding interface data cable of your mobile phone to connect it, it can be used no matter what interface your mobile phone has. It is not restricted by the mobile phone interface or model. (But for some mobile phones with older systems, it may not be supported).
After the connection is successful, the settings are basically the same as the conversion line above. Turn on [Developer Options]-[USB Debugging].
Then in [Select USB Configuration], change the default [Charging Only] to [MTP (Multimedia Transfer)], and the mobile phone can be cast to the TV immediately.
Then you can watch movies and play games on the big screen. It also supports high-definition large screens, with no lag in the picture and smoother game play.
