Observation background:

Sand is the best gift given by nature to young children, and it is also one of their favorite outdoor games. They play in the sand pool through various actions such as piling, digging, and burying. The sand changes in their hands, and it brings great benefits to children. It’s not just happiness, but also the desire to create out of curiosity.

The activity started. Xiaoyu and Yaoyao found a small water cup and a small shovel from the tool box and started playing. The two children started digging sand with small shovels. Xiaoyu put the dug sand into the small blue water cup, and Yaoyao also dug together. They finished digging the sand on it, and Xiao Yu said: "This sand is wet, let's fill the small water cup with sand!" Yaoyao said: "We turn the small water cup upside down and put it on the sand pit, and it will become a wet cup." It’s a cake.” Xiaoyu said, “Okay! We have to fill it up before we can pour it.” The two of them filled it up separately. Two minutes later, they filled the small water glasses. Full of sand. Xiaoyu held the bottom of the cup with her left hand and the top of the small water cup with her right hand. Then she quickly put the small water cup down and tipped it upside down in the sand pit. She gently patted the bottom of the water cup with her hand, then picked up the shovel and gently She patted the ground, and when she moved the small water cup away, the model appeared. She said to Yaoyao: "Look! My cake is ready!" Yaoyao said: "Mine will be ready soon too!" Xiaoyu stood up and walked to Yaoyao's side. She picked up the shovel, dug some sand and put it into Yaoyao's small water cup. In this way, Yaoyao's cake was ready. They clapped their hands and said, "Wow! My cake is good." La!" Yue Yue heard their voices and came over, and when he saw their models, he followed suit. He began to dig sand and pour it into the small water cup. When it was filled with sand, he turned the small water cup upside down and slapped it with both hands, trying to get the sand out of the small water cup, but when he took the small water cup away, the sand scattered. After failing for the first time, he stood up and looked at Xiaoyu and Yaoyao. Xiaoyu saw it and said, "You have to pack the sand tightly like us." So Yue Yue started his second attempt. This time, after he filled the sand, he kept tapping on the surface of the water glass with a small shovel. , after knocking, I added some sand to the small water cup, turned the small water cup upside down again, and slapped the surface of the small water cup hard. When the small water cup was taken away, the sand still scattered and no model was formed. This time, he still didn't give up and continued to try…

Xiaoyu: Yaoyao and I make "cakes" together.

Teacher: What difficulties did you encounter?

Yaoyao: The sand falls apart every time. I tried it several times without success.

Teacher: Then how did you solve it?

Xiao Yu: We used wet sand to make it, and finally we succeeded!

Solution:

This works well with wet sand.

Norm comparison:

3. Help your companions and play happily with them.

analyze:

Xiaoyu discovered the difference between dry and wet sand through his own operations and those of helping others. He was able to ask questions based on the observations and boldly guess the answers.

Yue Yue did not get discouraged after two unsuccessful attempts. He was able to use his hands and brain to explore objects and materials, enjoyed it, and asked his peers for cooperation. Imitate other people's actions, learn from other people's experiences, and after another failure, explore with your peers, keep trying, and actively operate without getting discouraged in the process. Everyone discussed and discovered the different textures of sand, accumulated experience, and developed preliminary exploration abilities.

follow up:

Regularly bring children into contact with nature to stimulate their curiosity and desire to explore. In terms of the selection of game materials, provide children with a variety of interesting sand play tools, such as sand play models, shovels, and hourglasses, so that children are not bound by materials during play.
